Mickt
I am considering buying a Nuevo on a 06 plate. However the dealer tells me it is a 2ltr, i was under the impression that theses were made on 2.2 ltr. Am i wrong , the van has only covered 3000 miles which seems low for year. Are there any suspect points i should be looking for on this conversion .Any views welcome.
Derek Uzzell
Nuevo was originally offered with a 2.0litre (85bhp) HDI motor as standard, with a 2.2litre (100bhp) HDI motor as an option. Although the present X250 Boxer began to be marketed in late-2006, with a 2.2litre Ford-manufactured motor as the base powerplant, it's to be expected that a 06-plated Nuevo would have been constructed on the outgoing chassis. Worth checking for any signs of water leaks through the window seals and (if fitted) roof-light seals, as Auto-Sleepers has gained some notoriety for this during recent years. Guest Tracker
I had a 2004 2.0 hdi Nuevo and it was a cracking van. Well built, fault free, reliable, well proven and usable layout and it went well enough for me. We only changed it because it was a bit cramped and lacking in storage for longer trips for two people and an enthusiastic border collie. Drive it and see if it is all you want and expect from a van. duetto owner
check the roof for cracking paint on the inside of the roof rails at the sides and sealant around roof vents. check that plastic fittings on blinds and roof vents are not broken as thay can be very flimsey. mel wood
Check the upholstery. Three years ago we looked at a Nuevo that was under a year old and the seams of a number of seat cushions were frayed. Saw a similar thing on a new vehicle at a show sometime later.

I recall having to restitch one cushion seam for this very reason - not too difficult if you have nimble fingers - which I don't!
