starvin marvin
Its that time of year again! Just been checking with my current provider MCIA who want £303 + £80 for annual EU & UK breakdown cover, total £383. The good old CC want, and this is not a typing error. £256 + £307 for long stay EU Red Pennant breakdown cover + extra for UK Mayday breakdown cover. I gave up at that point when the cost reached at least £563!!! Tried Comfort who wanted £296.70p with protected bonus, includes unlimited EU&UK breakdown cover. I could have had a new Comfort product for £261.10 which does not provide protected bonus. This new product is available for next Tuesday. So guess who I've gone with, back with Comfort. Mel Eastburn's article in Sept 08 MMM page 197, helped a lot. Anyone must be crackers to use the CC for insurance, the cost is crazy money. Colin9591
When we insured our new van in April I checked about eight or nine quotations. The cheapest two were around £260 - £280, then there was a tranche of offers around £450 - £500, a couple of outliers at around £600 and the the CC at £1040 ???? Needless to say that CC did not get the business. Cheers
