Curly
Been thinking of this for a while, have toured the Western States in a hired RV for 8/9 weeks twice but would like to ship my camper to Canada for a 6 month trip starting April 2010 if sailings available. There is a break even point of approx. 8 weeks of cost to hire to cost of shipping i.e. about £6k to hire for 8 wks and about £6k to ship so very beneficial for 6 months to ship, cost of hiring for this period is approx. £15k, with the added advantage of better fuel economy. So anybody out there has ANY INFO. on this type of trip. Have done a little research but would be nice to hear from someone who has actually done it. :-> :->
emmbeedee
There is currently a thread on MHF from someone enquiring about turning 110V into 220V. They are planning to ship their MH to Halifax, Nova Scotia, which they say can be done for less than £2,000. HTH.
Curly
Thanks for that Michael will get onto it straight away, did you meen 220v to 110v because I believe that the connections I have with Gaslow include a connection that is the same as the US type for refilling bottles or tanks, again thanks a lot now going to MHF :-> :-> :->
emmbeedee
Yes it was enquiring about converting 110 Volt EHU supply in the US & Canada into 220 Volts, presumably so that they can use their normal mains supply appliances, battery chargers, etc. No connection with Gaslow AFAIK.
