Jontee
thanks but it is not that overflow,it, goes from the top of the tank.
Brian Kirby
Apart from the auto dump valve, there is no "overflow". This is a pumped system, so the water heater is pressurised, and any pipe open to air will expel water. The only way for water to get in is via the pump, and the only way for it to get out is (should be!) via the taps etc, or the dump valve. Are you sure the hot feed from the Truma is properly attached to the heater?
davenewellhome
I seem to remember there is an over pressure valve in the hot outlet from the boiler, perhaps this valve has failed? D.
Brian Kirby
Logically, that must be the case: otherwise a failed stat on the water heating side would turn the Truma into a quite potent bomb! If this is the fault, replacement appears to be fairly simple, but I'd suggest speaking to Truma's technical department to confirm what is required. However, it is a critical safety component, so make sure before you intervene!
Jontee
many thanks for advice, I have had another look and I think that Dave is right about a failed valve.also will contact Truma to check when I find their number. one of the problems of living in France is technical advice. thanks again John
Derek Uzzell
This sounds like another example of a malfunctioning 'vent valve'. Lots of detail (and a useful photo) on the following earlier forum thread: http://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=15452&posts=
