Philjp
If it is tv that you are talking about a directional is the best but there are lots of dead zones in mid wales .South wales I have had no problem or in north wales

colin
What I can tell you is, the round omnidirectional as fitted to Wildax is completely useless, going across Derbyshire,Shropshire, Mid Wales to Lynn Penisular we only once got a signal and it was a very fuzzy analogue one >:-( For best chance of picture in a low signal strengh area a domestic arial will be best or a satellite system. hallii
The best antenna that works anywhere (ALMOST) in the UK is a satellite dish. A small receiver and dish can be had for as little as £30 (Lidl offer) and will pull in all your usual stations plus a lot more. Geoff
Philjp
I bought a small domestic aerial from Focus and mounted it on an aluminium pole attached to the ladder rack...How ever i picked up a satelite kit from Maplin for £50 it had been returned by a customer and sold as shop soiled.. I still take my aerial for when i can not get line of sight for satelite
