mikemelawrence.plus Posted July 28, 2009 Share Posted July 28, 2009 I am thinking of buying a van to convert into a camper style motorhome to use both on its own and to tow our two berth caravan - the VW T5 is about the right size but can anyone advise me the best diesel engine size for this van for towing purposes - our caravan is approx 1350kg MGW - the majority of T5s only seem to be 85ps/bhp which seems a bit underpowered - also any info/recommendations for a good conversion company in NW England? hallii Posted July 28, 2009 Share Posted July 28, 2009 I think the T5 is a bit more than that. Maybe as much as 150PS. Look for the Red "I", that is the high output engine.
