Irish Mike
Hi all, I checked the other threads but I stilll have a question please. Just back and I used the A6 and A10 up from Spain to beyond Bordeaux. We had had 2 MH'S in our wee group. Mine is a 3.9 ton and my mates is a 3.2 ton. Significant difference in length too. We met ticket machines and paid the same way. My fees were way more expensive then my mates. My question is, How do they know??? Is there a weight bridge built in where you stop and a camera to measure length. Every toll was the same way. Thanks
Syd
I think it is decided by height measuring camera's, but having said that, twice I have been registered as a lorry by them and had to get out of the car and climb up the fence to reach my ticket
Keith T
Often wondered if there is any logic as to whether the ticket appears from the high or low level, but the main things is that when paying to ensure the read-out shows you as group 2.....assuming that is the correct group for you! little-jack
Doesnt group 2 only cover vehicles under 3500kg and less than 3m high?
mirage
The current toll e.g. Calais to Nice appears to be Cass 2 = 148 Euro, Class 3 adds another 69 Euro. Your van must be slightly over 3.0m as seen by a height sensor. We had a 3.85 T van for 5 years and I only ever paid Class 2 as the height was 2.95m. Tolls are now to expensive to be economic so its could well be Germany next year.

Many of us spend much time travelling through France, without going near the bloody things!!
