Have a look at Calpe Mar, info@campingcalpemar.com, it's No 1321 in the 2009 ACSI book.  We stayed for a couple of nights in February (couldn't find a wildcamp and needed a washing machine). The site is new (2008) with good facilities including a dog wash bay for which they charge! The gravel pitches are a bit small but there were a lot of long stay vans and I would think that an early reservation would be needed.  The site is on the northern edge of Calpe in the middle of  an area of new development but the sea and promenade with some nice restaurants is only 5 minutes walk (would recommend Romeros recession menu).

We live nearby.

Calpe Mar is very good indeed,

Clean, modern, excellent facilities, it's at the bottom end of Calpe town, and takes the ACSI card.

We actually stayed there ourselves for two weeks earlier this last Spring when we were "between houses", having sold one house, but not yet completed on the purchase of the other villa.

If you can't speak Spanish, the Reception staff speak English.

I imagine you'd need to book WELL ahead, if you want a definite pitch there, even out of season, as it's (rightly) become VERY popular.

Highly recommended.

Can anyone recomend a camp site in or near Calpe for Feb/March 2010, it must be able to take dogs. sorry

B-) We have had 3 years at Camping Almafra. It's had it's ups and downs seeing as it is a new 5 star site. But it is reasonably priced for long term stays. They DO take dogs of the Canine variety. ;-)
