Ralph
Went to get an oil filter for my 2005 Peugeot Boxer 2.8 HDI and they tell me that there are 2 possibles based on the BHP 12x or 14y ( forget x and y). I assume the lower one but does anyone know how to tell?
euroserv
Hello Ralph, This is complete nonsense. There was a change of filter in 2005 for all 2.8 engines. This was instigated by Fiat so that all 2.3 and 2.8 units would share one common filter. Both are Fiat engines, but Fiat did not let Peugeot use the 2.3. Best bet is to check with your Peugeot dealer. Give them the chassis number and they will give you the correct part number. You will probably be pleasantly surprised with the price too. Ask if they are doing a promotion with oil and filters; they often do. Regards Nick
Ralph
Replying to my own post: If anyone's interested the correct filter was the one shown as being for the higher powered version. Of course I only found out after I plumped for the wrong one.
