Yes, I can recommend an excellent vet we always use in Bernkastel-Kues on river Mosel. He speaks excellent english, is very reasonably priced (25 euro for PETS treatment), and has morning and afternoon/evening surgeries. No need to book ahead. Also there is good motorhome parking in a motorhome parking area opposite the surgery on the bank of the Mosel.

As others have said, plenty of Stelplatz nearby.

Which part of Germany are we talking?

We recently used one on our way back from Germany at Franekar (Holland), just 30 seconds drive off the A31 which is the road that leads to the massive barrage that crosses the 'sea' at the top of Holland, about 25k away.

The vet spoke very good English and the cost for our 2 dogs (7kg and 22kg) was 30 euros (Saturday morning) as we supplied the Frontline and worming tablets, this also included giving Lily a jab for her 'reaction' to bug bites. If it's any good, I'll get the details for you.

Another thought, if you get really stuck for a vet whilst abroad and have the latest version of Tom Tom software, you can enable 'vet' POIs and the info stored about them also has phone numbers, that's how we found our Holland vet (after ringing a few). :-D

Hello everyone,

Can you recommend a vet in Germany that is within the '48hr window for the Pet Passport Scheme' drive back to Calais? Also any idea on cost for a Golden Retriever that has her own Frontline and Drontal. Many thanks.

You could try, if you're on the Rhine.

Its interesting to see someone trying to use the waiting "window" to travel, rather than hang about in Calais.

This place is dead easy to find and was reasonably cheap for our crazy border collie. Good luck with it.
