Guest Jack Stewart
Have been operating TT satisfactorily with various POi's running, however, I can't seem to get "PocketGPS Speed Cameras" to register on my TT/PDA. As far as I can tell all the necessary files are showing up in the SD card/map folder but nothing shows up when I am running the TT programme. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to how I might overcome this difficulty? Many thanks.
Guest John S
Can we have a translation please? What do the abbreviations TT,POi,PDA and SD stand for? It seems like being in a secret society when you have a GPS (I think I know what that stands for!)- with only the initiated being able to understand the jargon. Guest Yorkshire Tyke
It seems that you MUST use abreviations these days to show how clever you are not It hides your lack of real knowledge
Guest Mel B
John, you're gonna have to come into the 21st century!!! TT = Tom Tom software POi = Points of Interest (ie supermarkets, petrol stations etc) PDA = Personal Data Assistant - the little computer thingy that you use for GPS sat nav (Global Positioning System Satalite Navigation) SD = Storage Disc, the little minute card that you store your data on such a maps etc. No doubt you'll know what this one means though John ... TTFN! Mel B
Guest John S
Thanks for enlightening me Mel. However, the use of jargon has got rather out of hand. One can be in the 21st century without necessarily being fully conversant with all specialised technical terms. It is almost as though a jargon filled posting is only directed to readers who are completely on the same wavelength as the writer, rather than to the general reader and to those who would like to know more but can't begin to understand what the strange language is all about. Guest Jack
Sorry about the shorthand, however, by no means does it indicate that I was trying to be too clever! Also thanks to the person who posted the clarification of the jargon. Now back to the initial post, can anyone shed any light on my difficulty with the download of "PocketGPS Speed Cameras"? Thanks again.
Guest Gordon Thomson
Jack Have you activated the speed camera POI. If not you need to go into the menu option Change Preferences then select Manage POI. You then have to select each POI you wish to display and if required, use option Warn When Near POI to give an audible warning.
