slackhouse - 2009-09-15 12:33 PM Hi - We have an Autotrail Fiat Ducato 2007 which has a fitted fan style blind to the windscreen. What is the best option for fitting an insulated windscreen cover and any recommendations of make? Thanks Slackhouse

These two companies both have their fans. I used Taylor Made as they were better value at the time and it's been excellent.

Other UK suppliers of cab insulated screens are Van Comfort (www.vancomfort.co.uk) and CAK (www.caktanks.com)

Assuming that you wish to fit the cover(s) to the inside surface of the cab glass, then you may have to modify standard pattern covers so that they can go behind your existing concertina blinds. This was necessary with my Transit-based Hobby, but may not be needed for a current model Ducato. The material used for insulated covers is not particularly nice to work with DIY-wise, so, if you think you might need to make alterations, it might be wise to discuss this with suppliers before ordering.

An external blind will provide much better insulation, though will be less convenient to fit and store. Should you opt for an external cover and Auto-Trail has installed concertina blinds on the cab side-windows, then you'd need to check that the method used to attach the cover will not interfere with the side-window blinds' framework.
