Tomo3090
Heard on Radio 4 You & Yours today that from April this year the reciprical health arrangement between the UK and Channel Islands has ended and from now on you will separate health insurance to cover your medical costs on any of the channel Islands. Even the EHIC card is not accepted. A woman had a bil for over 2 grand to re-set her dislocated hip. This hasn't been widely reported and according to the spokesperson for the Channel Islands Health Service over 200 Brits have had to pay a hefty bill. lizken
This change was reported in the early months of this year in all the caravan/motorhome magazines, and also mentioned on this forum. When booking ferry tickets, confirmation of booling normally informs that valid travel insurance is required. We travelled to Jersey in June, and our booking infvormation from C&CC stressed this point.
colin
I suppose it's a bit late to tell anyone that you have needed health insurance on Sark for several years now.
Keith T
Yes, this was reported in various places. If you have an annual (or even short term) Euro or Worldwide Medical Policy, I guess you will be covered under that.
