starvin marvin
I suspect that if gas bottles are not readily available, without some palaver like Spain, the best place to look for one would be, as in Spain, a flea market. Regulators are the next problem, but again markets are always a good source, but buy new. I guess once you have a bottle exchanging it for a full one is likely to be simple. With refillable bottles its quite easy. In my guide Italy has 424 refill stations throughout the country. More in the North than the South and some in Sicily. Brian Kirby
Listen for an ice-cream van jingle (Greensleeves or similar, they use the same tunes!). Then look for it and, lo-and-behold, you will find a truck selling exchange gas cylinders! Sorry if you were expecting ice cream. :-)
