fuel costs

In the lunchtime news there was a reference to the cost of living being kept down by recent reductions in the retail cost of PETROL and DIESEL. I have noticed two considerable reductions in the price of lead free petrol but no reductions to diesel which is now up to 6pence/litre higher than petrol. does this only apply to the Midlands, are we and comercial road transport subsidising a fictitious claim following reduced oil prices.

In the part of my brain that stores useless information (I know what do i use the other 5% for)i have a recollection that lead free cost cutting was a 'customer loyalty relocation scheme' engineered by one Supermarket behemoth. They obviously targeted non diesel driving executives and their spouses as diesel has been 6p more expensive than lead free since Xmas.Essex/Suffolk border. Not long till France at least we can afford to practise the passtime over there.
