"Freeview" is the name for terrestrial (i.e from a ground based transmitter) broadcast digital TV while "Freesat" is a broadly similar service, in terms of channels you can receive, supplied via satellite. "Freeview" is only available through a normal style aerial and either a digital ready TV or set tob box while "Freesat" is only available through a satellite dish and satellite receiver.

There are integrated TV's available with both Freeview and Freesat built in.

 

Of course an aerial is needed for Freeview and a dish for Freesat.

Very true Derek but few and far between. I doubt very much if the OP would be looking to purchase such a unit and that is why I did not mention it.
