Hi Vicky, A word of warning about Camping Fusina, It can get over run with Coach parties and backpackers who make a lot of noise well into the early hours. We prefer to stay at Camping Miramare www.camping-miramare. at Punta Sabbioni. You can then take the ferry to Venice. The drive to Punta Sabbioni is a bit awkward but we think it's worth it. We are still in not so sunny Turkey. Safe travelling Don

Hi Vicky I agree with Don, Camping Miramare is a good site. You can get ferry tickets at the campsite and its about 10 minutes walk to ferry terminal. Some of the tickets also include travel on the water buses which is a convenient method of getting to places in and around Venice (saves 6year old legs) I cannot comment on facilities for children as am too old for swings. The views across the lagoon at night are spectacular. The site runs a minibus (free) to and from the ferry terminal a couple of times in the morning and late afternoon, but it really is only 10 mins to walk there. We get a 3-day ticket and there is then time to go to the islands (included in the ticket price) and spend a few hours exploring. They say you should never go back to places you have enjoyed but we did, and it was just as great as the first time. If you hear thunder in the mountains and it then starts raining, take in your awning. The winds can get up pretty quickly and the hail, when we were there one time, was like ice-cubes! Have a great time.
