Blizzard
Drained the hot water boiler down earlier and had a quick look underneath to ensure it was draining ok. I was surprised to see that the flow of water was not pouring directly below where the boiler was situated, but was hitting one of the chassis members and running towards the front of the MH before pouring to the ground. I didn't have time to have proper look to see if a piece of feeder pipe was missing, but is this normal, and would prolonged emptying of hot water from the boiler on to the chassis have a detrimental effect ?? Philman
The drain for lots of motorhomes is located on the outside of the van and can take a day or two to drain completely. There is a pressure release valve which, if pulled, allows the boiler to drain a bit quicker. While draining the water runs down the side panels of the van and then runs along the skirting. Good designs eh? Phil.
lennyhb
Won't we nowhere near as damaging as salt laden road spray, if you are worried about it you could extend the drain tube.
Blizzard
Cheers both ! I suppose with hindsight, rinsing the salt laden crud off with clean water from the boiler should extend the life of the chassis member. Perhaps I should extend the outlet to rinse more of the chassis (lol)
