carolh Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Well what a summer!! It was long and hot, and we were extremely busy in July and August. Argeles sur Mer is so busy, it's very popular with the French and they descend en masse for July and August. I don't think we will do it again next year, it was a bit like giving birth 'I am never going to do that again' LOL But never say never! It's nice to be back and in our own little home, our mh performed well - on our journey down, while we were there, and on our trip back. So what's been going on? Any news? I didn't get much internet time down there, and to be honest it was so exhausting working in the heat that all I wanted to do in the evening was sit and veg. some news for you all, we bought a static caravan while we were down there, have a look at the camp site http://camping-equinoxe.com, its open all year so we can take advantage of the spring and autumn months and then rent it out in July and August. We intend to spend Christmas and New Year there and charles is sussing out snow chains because we are only a couple of hours drive from Andorra. I am looking forward to hearing all your news carol

Hymer C 9. Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Carol good to have you back, seems as if you have had a hectic year, bet your French is really good now. Carol.
carolh Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 yes it's good to be back We took the motorhome visiting last weekend, saw friends in Wales and Blackburn. It was good to see people and catch up on all the news. Yes it was hard - but we have re-applied for employment again!!! Well it was like giving birth 'I am never doing that again', but like giving birth the pain etc LOL pales into the past after a few short weeks. And we do need to work until Charles startes getting his State Pension in a couple of years time, and jobs are few and far between out there. My french is better, but not by a lot, of course they all want to speak English don't they? But I am still learning! and probably will be for ever. I have booked flights to go back on the 11th November! hey ho. here's a pic of our static caravan.
