Poppy Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 We stayed at the cc temporary campsite. Found it very convenient.quiet and well run.We were interested in 6 metre vans due to storage space. We can go alittle over this but not much. The most inoventive (sp?) was the Chausson suite.Drop down double over the middle of the van, good lounge, wash room.island kitchen and small demi garage.Never seen a layout like it.Autotrail trecker lovely but very poor outside storage.Pilote aventura, 6.5 metre, lovely but absolutely NO outside storage.Hymers have gone through the roof. The Hymer van is£ 8000 more than the Hobby and TBH can't see where the extras are.Euromobile are fabulous if you don't mind a large over the cab bed.Very good value as well. The most impressive range I found are the EXCEL vans.Very good. The 600 has a small double, which is fine for us but you may need the 600b if you are taller.Kitchens basic but every bit as good as the continentals.Really impressed with these vans.

Apparently, there is a Rapido that has a dropdown bed over the central dinette, don't know the model number, just seen it advertised.

We saw that model, but for the life of me I can't remember the model no - I've been asleep since then!
Mel B Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Its the 776F but I can't find any internal photos of it unfortunately. :-(
Stuart Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Very impressed with Burstner Nexxo until I found out max trailer weight is 1000kg, no good for car + trailer. Great pity, not on Sevel chassis, would have been ideal. Stuart
Guest Peter Sharpe Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I published a very brief report on Tuesday that included the Adria Matrix. That also has a drop-down roof bed over the lounge, so that you don't have to fiddle around with the cab seats at all.http://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/channel/articleitem.asp?c=1&article=291
hymer1942 Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I am bewildered that no one thinks £14.95 a little steep to say the least. Wont be going there again.
colin Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 There are several dropdown bed models around, I like the LaStrada Regent, was couple of nice ones I glanced at on Southdowns stand Concorde I think, unfortunaly gf gets claustrophbia after about 10secs on the drop down beds
Poppy Posted October 20, 2009 Author Posted October 20, 2009 We were going to look at the Adria Matrix but its too long for us.OH tried to do a deal on a Hymer 508 but it was really way too expensive.Brownhills at Preston seem to be moving away from Hymer.

Matrix is a lovely looking van, but I did not realise it was so long! 7,359 mm *-) Get the Hymer 508 from Belgium :-D

Randonneur Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 Have a look at this one: http://www.font-vendome.fr/camping_car/vans_amenages_1217/bel_horizon_3543 We have seen this in the flesh so to speak and it is very impressive for such a small van but it has a large price. The Font-Vendome factory is not very far from us and they have their own Aire with elec hookups, accessories shop and also secondhand stock of different makes.
