We have decided to get a cycle rack fitted to our motorhome, and plan to get it done when we come over to the UK in between Christmas and New Year. Can anyone recommend a good place anywhere between Exeter and Bristol, who could supply and fit one and, who is going to be open on either 29/30 December - we would book it in before leaving home. Any advice welcome - thanks

Have you a Tow bar? if yes why not get a Thule tow bar rack. saves a lot of hassle and more secure as you can use a hefty lock and chain through the T bar

No, no tow bar fitted. We don't really want to go down that road as we only just clear the back end getting on and off the ferry,it would eat more of the payload than a rear rack and also our bikes aren't the type that would be stolen - they are put together from all bits - and look like it, but they work and are comfortable!

Ideally I'd suggest you use a dealer/service centre that is familiar with the construction of your particular m/h. There is obviously quite a lot of weight/strain placed on a cycle rack and it is important that it is attached to the 'van properly using the strengthened sections concealed within the sandwich panels - not anywhere else.

As a previuos poster has stated. Adveture Motorhomes in brigwater , very good, Nick Stevens, he fitted our Sat dome, also had our Tyres filled with foam there. I would sugest you make an appoitment, ring and discus it with Nick so that the correct fittings for your van are available. Bear in mind that a cycle rack does stick out, especialy with the bikes on. we have a rack, and have a Fiammi Box on ours, we don't have a problem on the ferry, and our van is 6.2 meters withou rack The workshop is within walking distance of shops, so somewere to go, while the fitting is done
