Guest Brian Kirby
The final chapter! This is an update to Derek Uzzell's 26/02/06 original posting under the same title. Please see. Dometic supplied the replacement catch and nylon shims as promised by post. Fitting was not aided by Burstner's installation, which clipped both the gas supply pipe and the electrical supply cables for the fridge in virtually inaccessible locations. After much fulminating, working with stiff, cold, fingers all was eventually achieved, however. In respect of sealing the enclosure, Burstner's installation is exemplary. It's just they seem to have forgotten the need to remove the fridge for maintenance or servicing! The new catch is, basically, the old one minus the mushroom head that caused the jamming. One shim was added to the bottom pivot ensure the catch engages adequately even if the door flexes under load. User trials in a couple of weeks! Regards, and thanks again Derek.
