Way2Go
Title says it all really ;-)We're going around the ring road between cities and it seems a pity to go past really. The last time we visited the Cologne Christmas markets we were in a car so it didn't matter much but this time we'll be in our motorhome. There's a campsite up by the zoo but we were kinda hoping to get a bit closer.Does anyone have any advice about where we can park our 7m motorhome for a couple of hours?Any advise much appreciated.W2G
peejay
Hi; There is a free stellplatz (72hrs max) in the Koln Marsdorf region of the city at the 'Haus-Vorst' Park and Ride. A1 exit 104 (Frechen) then follow signs for the park & ride and the motorhome pictorgrams to the stellplatz on Emmy-Noether-Strasse. >Google maplink< Its then a quick tramride to the city centre. There is also another stellplatz in the Koln Reihl district with direct acces to the tram as well or a good 3/4 hour walk to the city along the Rhein cost about about €8 per night last time we visited. pete
enodreven
Hi, We haven't used the first one in Koln Marsdorf but we have used the one by the river Cologne Port Reisemobil Stelplatz just off the An Der Schanz 50.96275N , 6.98325E and as said 5mins to the tram and then 10 mins into the City or 30/40 mins walk along the side of the river Just 2 things (1) You may want to check if you will need the German Umwelt sticker for the one at Koln Marsdorf, as I'm pretty sure you will need one for the Stelplatz on the river albeit you may already have one. (2) If you use the one on the river be very careful where you park make sure you have left enough room to reverse or drive out that no one can block, as they did/do have a habit of just parking anywhere and blocking people in so be warned, you may also need a very long lead for the hookup, albeit you could be lucky and be near a point Enjoy yourselves, Cologne is a really nice city with some great places to see. Hi, I've just been checking the Umwelt zone for Koln and it appears both of these Steplatz are just out side of the zone albeit you really do need to be careful what way you approach the one on the river, so double check this site you can down load maps of the zone http://www.stadt-koeln.de/3/umwelt/umweltzone/die-koelner-umweltzone/ peejay - 2009-11-14 6:57 PM Hi; There is a free stellplatz (72hrs max) in the Koln Marsdorf region of the city at the 'Haus-Vorst' Park and Ride.
