We have decided not to purchase the manufactures radio/cd/dvd/mp3 which included a reversing camera as price was super high! The Chausson Allegro 83 we are getting soon is already wired up for this equipment. Noted in Practical motorhome latest issue that they have an offer for one but no manufacturers details.Does anyone think this is a good offer at £189? We require a radio that could be used as best as possible when in Europe. I dont know if there are any suitable for this purpose? A CD player is essential and very much like to have DVD which will connect to the tv direct. Haven't got a clue about mp3 and with 4 reverse sensors on the back a reversing camera is not a priority. We know argos and Halfords do fitting and also "uplands" but what we need is recommendations of what models to buy and the benefits of certain specifications. Does anyone know of any reviews in any motrorhome mags as I have hundreds stored away. Any advice gratefully received. Chris

This is a huge question and you don't really supply enough to give a meaningful answer. For example: - what will you listen to on the CD/MP3 player: classical, pop, m-o-r, what? - do you want a 2-speaker or 4-speaker or surround sound system? - do you plan to hook the DVD player up to a TV (so you can also receive local terrestrial or satellite progs) or to a monitor only (so you can also use it for navigation), or to a combination system? - do you have a laptop computer (most of the latest can play/record DVDs and CDs and be set up to receive TV, both here and abroad)? I suggest, even if you get answers and recommendations to your posting, you don't yet know enough to be able to evaluate them. Go to your local Halfords and a decent ICE store and get them to talk through the options & costs with you. You might also get a catalogue from a specialist supplier such as RoadPro so you can see what is available at what cost. Several advertise in MMM (towards the back of the mag). Once you've done this, you will be in a position to make an informed choice and thus enjoy what you ultimately buy. I haven't seen the PM offer, but if it does everything you want for £189, it sounds as though it has been built to a price. Does this include screen and speakers?

Mel Thanks for the reply. We will listen to various cds such as Elton John, Tom Jones, 60s , Robbie and other popular cds. There are already 4 speakers installed in the van. We will hook the dvd/radio/cd direct to the tv in the van via preinstalled leads. We do not own a laptop. The offer in PM does not include screen and speakers. This is not required by us. Have seen the Camos multi-media D0809 in roadpro which is another option (without screen and speakers) Obviously I am at the early stages of research and open to any suggestions. Sorry Mel, have never heard of ICE and cannot find anything on internet about them? Chris

If you can change / fit the unit yourself, have a look at this website : www.bluespot.co.uk/default.asp Blaupunkt is a reliable make and I got a Radio/CD/mp3 player (including extra leads) for just under £100 from these people.
