Guest Tracker
Derek - I was under the impression that as long as your vehicle conformed to the laws applying in the country of registration it would be legal all over the EU? In which case as long as replacement tyres were deemed legal in the UK being in France should not be a problem - unless a particular Gendarme was having a bad day...........................? Brian Kirby
I think that bit was for the benefit of those with French registered vans, Rich.
teflon2
For tyre information try the tyresafe website it has a chart showing all the ply ratings, sizes and codings on motorhome and van tyres complete with pressures. Hope this helps, John :-S
Derek Uzzell
teflon2 - 2009-12-21 9:43 PM For tyre information try the tyresafe website it has a chart showing all the ply ratings, sizes and codings on motorhome and van tyres complete with pressures. Hope this helps, John :-S I believe you'll find that the tyresafe data are incomplete as far as current tyre sizes are concerned. For example the 225/75 R16C tyre used on X/250 chassis with 16" wheels is not shown, nor is the 10PR 215/75 R16C 'camping-car' tyre marketed by Continental. bobalobs
Recently ordered a panel van conversion on a X250 Maxi chassis which comes with 16 inch wheels as standard. However the 225/75R16 tyres that you mention are listed as an optional extra at a cost of £305 plus vat.Are they worth it on a Camper ? Thanks for any thoughts. Bobalobs.
