messerschmitt owner
Mel, let's guess the final selling price of this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/P-50-Peel-50-micro-bubble-car_W0QQitemZ120517618068QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item1c0f68e994&afsrc=
Mel B
I'm trying to remember what the last one went for - was it around £40,000????? I still remember Big Jim Jamieson (6'8") trying to get into a bubble windowed one at the National Microcar Rally in Scotland a good few years ago. In the current economic climate, I think it'll go for nearer £30,000. 8-)

messerschmitt owner
Mel is that the one that used to be at Hilltop Farm - where the maniacs had their rally in about 1992. I'm expecting £35,000. Most expensive one was about £45,000 Campbell

I'm involved in the restoration of a certain small car, brought I believe for £25k, stripped down and a good £10k+ spent so far and we've not even got a rolling chassis together yet! and for what? I have a family history dealing with the manufacturer going back to my great grandparents and I still think the design and build is rubbish! Mel B
These cars are very, very rare, hence the silly prices - they end up, most of the time, being expensive 'ornaments' unfortunately. I wonder what Malcolm & Carol's Peel (same type) would go for, though it's in a little bit more 'used' condition that this .... A friend of ours (Alan F) a microcar nut, who used to do absolutely wonderful restorations of Isettas and other microcars and highly regarded in this field, could get a premium for one of his cars - his Isetta pick-up went to America and I think he might have got £10k for it, even his normal Isettas went for anywhere up to £7k. Campbell ... what was the highest price a Messerschmitt Tiger got - was it around £60-80k??? :-S
messerschmitt owner
Mel, IIRC one tigger sold for $120,000 - which would be £80k in today's money but was c. £60k at the time. I've driven one! Loved it! Couldn't afford it then either!
