I have a confession to make ....

Okay, I'm afraid I've succumbed and have bought joined the Caravan Club again.

Whilst I was out this morning in search of the 'never to be found' car boot sale we ended up at North Cave but for some reason the car boot there was closed (despite it saying it was open EVERY Sunday!), so on the way back we popped into Waudby's who sell caravans, motorhomes and a very good range of accessories in their well stocked shop which is reasonably priced, and bought one of the Caravan Club Express Membership packs there for ... wait for it ... £32.00 yes, that's right - cheaper than the club itself.

As we intend to make much more use of the motorhome this year we thought we'd get the pack whilst we were there so it wasn't a totally wasted journey, we'll probably be using the CLs in February anyway so it's not too much in advance.

Okay - you can all hurl insults now .... :D

Mel -you just have to go to CC Cheltenham Racecourse site.

Park & Ride bus goes from just outside the site into town. Lots of 'posh' charity shops!

Sunday morning there is the best car boot sale I've ever been to on the racecourse carpark.. (As far as I know, it's on every Sunday, but check just in case there is a special event/racing on)

The perfect weekend away :D

Well youve saved £5 Mel so thats a bonus in itself. :-D we tried a C.L. for the first time last year and we were pleasantly surprised it was well kept and very clean so if we cant get on the main sites when we feel the urge ;-) we might be lucky on one of these.

Hello Maggyd....... or in this case seeing as I'm showing my true colours and interest in saving a bob or two.......eyup chuck!

We are members of both CC and C&CC mainly for the CLs and CCs........

They are generally worth staying at and well scattered around.....not that we are against the club sites. It is whatever is convenient at the time.

We have been caught out by "bookings" at the CC tho. tried to get at Grassington for the Christmas fair a couple of years back. Fully booked! Well yes, except from the cancellations that is. Family who went then noticed a good few spaces over that period........

Don't forget the Norfolk Line Ferry offer. Save even more money with cheap channel crossings.

You must be a CC member.

Log on to the CC website.

Choose the Norfolk line, Dover to Dunkirk.

Travel out on a Sunday and back on a Friday (any time of day you like).

Cost is £54-02 return for a motorvan (length seems unimportant up to 8 metres).

I don’t know when this offer ends.

We have only joined so we can use the CLs, not interested in the main sites, too expensive for us now. :-D

There are some absolutely lovely CLs out there maggyd and we love them, so much freedom especially for the dogs who like to potter around outside the van (ensuring they're not upsetting anyone of course).

Last year we had a couple of CLs to ourself and they were lovely.
