Has anybody hired out their motor home. If so, can you let me know of any insurance companies which will cover this.

we are thinking of hiring out our motor home for a few weeks in the summer.

Also any complications which you have found in offering this service and tips would be welcome.

This subject has come up before and most of the advice was " don't do it" as people don't take care of it.

If you type " hiring" in the search facility it will take you back to previous posts. ( Last October ).

These are links to three earlier forum-threads that may be helpful:

I've no personal experience or useful knowledge of what would be involved insurance-wise, but the following companies offer a 'management' service and may be able to advise.

I would have thought it's not worth the effort (and risk) if you are just going to do for a few weeks.

Did you manage to get that Search to work, please? It wouldn't work for me and, although I eventually managed to retrieve some earlier threads on the subject, this was only via educated guesswork.

It is one of the rare occasions when I did manage to get the search to work.

I just typed " hiring" - going back one year - in 'Motorhome matters' section.

I could see one or two references to hiring ( but didn't have the expertise to copy the links !)

Thanks for the reply.

I've tried that particular combination and, sure enough, it does work - in fact, a 'general' Search using just "hiring" as the keyword (with no date or forum restrictions) also worked when I re-tried it, which is a mite strange!

If, following a successful Search, you want to insert links to earlier forum threads into your posting, just click on the thread you are interested in within the list produced by the Search and then, once that thread has opened, copy-and-paste its 'address' into your posting. Repeat the process until you've copied the links of all the earlier threads that you believe may be relevant.
