Brian Kirby
I have just read, in a French magazine, that Hymer group has decided to close the Eriba works at Cernay, where the above vans are produced. If I have understood correctly, the Touring range of vans will cease production, but may be re-introduced at a later date, when the market improves. Something to check before ordering, or if you already have one on order. The obvious point being what has Hymer done to ensure continuing spares availability, and what will happen to Hymer's guarantee support in respect of these vans? lennyhb
They have put the French company into liquidation, but will continue to produce Eriba's at one of their other plants.
duetto owner
we had an eriba caravan 15 years ago or thereabouts quality was excellent so was stability when towing, got rid of it due to lack of space [i'm 6'4"] took till last year to save up and decide on a motorhome. motorhomes much better than a caravan. Derek Uzzell
For anyone interested in the background and current position regarding the Cernay factory closure, there's 17 pages of comment (going back to late-November 2009) on this French Eriba forum: http://forumeribatouring.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2217&sid=8d2736aec536e186cb6bb4dca3b925fb
