Robbie
Hi, does anyone know what a garage would charge for fitting a cam belt on 53 Ducato 2.8 Thanks
davenewellhome
Depends on the garage but anywhere from £150 to £500. It also depends on what the motorhome is, a standard Ducato cab should be a straight forward job but an A class with restricted access may well bring a cost hike because of the aggro factor it involves. tonyishuk
The following link might help. I doubt if prices have changed much (They are varied) BUT the advice, as always, is good. http://www.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=14746&start=1 Rgds
davenewellhome
Thanks for that link Tony, reading through it again reminds me that Minstrel never did get back to us with the actual cost of the cambelt change and service. Minstrel, if you read this any chance of an update? D.
flicka
Robbie - 2010-01-26 1:52 PM Hi, does anyone know what a garage would charge for fitting a cam belt on 53 Ducato 2.8 Thanks Just a thought & I could be wrong, but isn't the 2.8 Ducato engine a Timing Chain drive ?????? Therefore being fully enclosed I would anticipate a higher cost than the base £150 Dave quoted :'(

Guest peter
Dave's correct it's a belt and a piece of cake to change if it doesn't have air con.
Patricia
Cambelt kit, full service including front brake pads, all including VAT, parts, oil and labour cost me £522.51. I cannot find the actual bill date but I think it was February 2008. He also did some electrical wiring for me F.O.C. The quote that I obtained from another garage was very similar.
