bob b
I fitted a Gaslow re-fillable system some time ago. The two 6kg propane cylinders I removed are now a 'trip hazard' in my garage.Am I correct in thinking that to obtain a deposit refund I have to return the cylinders to the originating supplier? The supplier is in Gloustershire and as I live in Sussex the sums don't add up. If so, is there a way around it?
davenewellhome
If they are Calor cylinders you can return them to any Calor agent but you will need your original rental agreement paperwork to get anything back and the amount you do get back will depend on how long ago you originally got took out the contract. EJB
If you have the original contract I believe that they can be returned to any Calor???? agent. I also believe...No contract...No return (for money that is). HTH.
bob b
Thanks for the response Dave. I've fallen at the first fence! The original cylinders were supplied with the motorhome 5 years ago and having just looked through my paperwork I didn't get a rental agreement, although they're detailed on the receipt. It seems a shame to take them to the tip. Keithl
Bob, If they are Calor you could return them to any Calor dealer, but as stated above would not get anything back without paperwork. Why not try selling them thru' your local papers small ads? Keith.
bob b
I'll put them on the Buy & Sell section.......once I find out what they're worth! Cheers folks.
davenewellhome
Hi Bob, you may find that many places won't take an advert for Calor cylinders as technically you never own them, they belong to Calor outright and you can't legally sell stuff that doesn't belong to you. In my area they sell for between £5-00 & £10-00 empty.
thebishbus
Our local camping shop, Jacksons at Arley, give £5.00 for empty cylinders, not much I know, but better than throwing them away. Check with a shop near you. Brian.
lennyhb
You could put them on Free Cycle better than taking them to the tip.
davenewellhome
Or just hand them back to Calor who are the legal owners. D.
