handyman
http://www.lakeland.co.uk/mould-remover/F/keyword/grout/product/20284 this stuff will remove it, but you need to find where the damp is coming from, and stop the leak
kelly58
Last year we used " DETTOX " Anti Bacterial Mould and Mildew Remover its quite common to get mildew after being closed up for winter usually little spots mostly in the corners but the Dettox worked really well It either came from Wilco's or supermarket sorry but cannot remember exactly where we have had it for quite a while its one of those things you only use a little of so therefore lasts a long time
maggyd
Or you could try making a paste of Bicarbonate of soda and applying with a toothbrush, leave for an hour or so and then rub again with cold water, I use this on my white vertical blinds, it works if its not too bad. Lord Raindrop
Forget the treatment, sort the mildew problem first or it will move somewhere else.

ChrisD
Thank you all for your help. I'm wondering if this is due to the winter close up. It does seem to spread pretty fast. Will try the dettox route and will post results here.
Lord Raindrop
I don't know the vehicle but can you remove the area and dry it completely, that's much better than just a surface treatment as you still do not know the cause.
Brian Kirby
Where in the Luton is the mould? If you have left the mattress in place, it may have retained sufficient moisture from use to cause mildew. If the mattress has been removed, or placed elsewhere within the van, it is unlikely to be the cause. That leaves condensation, or a leak. It has been very cold so, but also very wet. If your van has been left closed up and with no heating or humidifier inside, depending on the degree of insulation in the Luton condensation is a possibility. However, making that assumption is risky so I would suggest getting someone to test the Luton area with a moisture meter. If it tests dry, then at least you can be reasonably sure the cause is not leakage. The other possibilities are easily managed.
