Hi all

We are new to motorhoming abroad. We are just outside Huelva, southern Spain. We have a SwiftBolero FB. Our main 12v 40 amp fuse has blown therefore when not on electric have no control panel & will only work when ignition is on. We are hoping to stay away for 3 months travelling up the Costas in to France. Our next stop off will probably be Sevilla.

Anybody know where we could get a replacement fuse ? Hopefully it was just a one off, as all else is workng when we are on hook up but possibly when moving about would wildcamp odd nights as we do have secondary leisure battery, battery to battery charger & an inverter.

Hopefully some knowledgable motorhomer will beable to give us some tips or advice. :-S

most Swifts come with a spare 40 amp fuse usually tucked away in one of the pockets, is you inverter wired directly to the battery I have know some people who have wired it to the vans leisure circuit this will make the 40 amp fuse blow. If you do not have a spare if you go to a motoring shop that sells sound systems for cars they have gold plated fuses ranging up to 100 amps you should be able to get an inline one from there remove you fuse holder and connect the wires to your inline one. It would take some heavy current to knock out a 40 amp fuse, if everything is ok when using the engine battery or on hookup it may have a been a dogy fuse?

Thanks very much for your reply, must admit we were wondering why the fuse went. The inverter has been installed by Van Bitz so would expect it to be al wired ok. However we did go to a Fiat car dealer near the camp site Villsom where we were staying just outside Seville & they were very helpful & went to a lot of time to find us a replacement fuse & didn't even charge us.

We seem now to be working fine both on electric & on 12v.
