jenkothewanderer
I have a Waeko AC1500 roof mounted air con unit not working on the cooling side. On removing the top cover I have found the copper pipe from the compressor unit to the radiator to be fractured. Has anybody experienced this and does anyone know of a good reputable company for such a repair. I live in South Yorkshire. I understand Waeko has been bought out by Dometic and to date I am struggling to find a suitable repairer.

jenkothewanderer
Thanks for reply but the unit will require regassing with special gasses.
davenewellhome
Don't know about South Yorks but Conrad Anderson are a regional warranty agent for Dometic/Waeco. From what I've heard its not such an unusual failure. D.

davenewellhome
No its not CO2 gas at all, it is a special refrigerant gas. Not all AC and refrigeration units use the same gas either. D.

silverback
i dont stand corrected at all.. DENSO/ Toyota made the 1st C02 air con unit for cars in 2002, whilst this unit might not be using C02, there are units out there what do jonathan http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2002/12/04/151245.html
flicka
The majority of car Air-Con systems use R134a Refrigerant. Weaco /Dometic uses R407c Refrigerant See http://www.dometicapproved.co.uk/service.aspx to find your nearest service agent.
terry1956
don,t like to rain on anyone but I don,t think these units can take a gas recharge, so please check first you may need to have some inlet valves put in place. terry
