Geoff Tuckley
Can anyone recommend a site to take motorhomes and tourers very close to a lake or similar where we can give a grandchild lessons in kayaking? We have our own kayak.Desired areas are N.Wales, Lancashire, Cheshire or North Staffs.Another desirable amenity would be a pub in walking distance. colin
Not sure if it's still going, Llyn Gwynant NE of Bedgellert had campsite on edge of lake, 15? years ago when we where there had only basic facilities but good for access to water and walks, down side is no pub in walking distance. vindiboy
Hi, Have a look at the Boating Group Section of the Camping and Caravan club. they have exactly what you are looking for in all areas of England.
rupert123
Llyn Gwynant is indeed still going. I only live a few miles away, in Beddgelert, so have never stayed their but they have done a lot of work in the last few years. Their is another site called Cae Du much nearer the village, keep going past Llyn Gwynant, it is your left just before you enter the Village. This site is right on the River Glaslyn which is pretty gentle in its upper reaches and a short walk to Llyn Dinas.

thebishbus
Hi. The campsite at Bala lake, (LLYN TEGID) should suit you, we used to go wind-surfing there with our ski club, long walk to the pub though. Brian B.
