Robinhood
Mismatch between what you are ripping/burning and what the CD player will read? By default, Microsoft products will rip in WMA format. Whilst some CD players will read this, MP3 is more common. Check what the CD player will read, and if this is the problem change the default setting in the product you are using to rip/burn. e.g Windows Media Player - Tools - Options - Rip
Randonneur
On my desktop computer when I upgraded to Windows 7 I split the hard drive into 2 and I kept Windows XP and burn my disks using Nero. The version of Nero I have won't work on Windows 7. When the computer starts up it gives you the choice of which operating system you want to use so when I want to burn a disk I just log on to XP.
