Coffee Break!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Heading to St Jean De Luz. Departing roscoff and will stopover fpr the night at La Rochelle. Usually head to the car park by the municipal site. Site always was full and we discovered the car park and the company of so many campers was just as good for the one night.

On the way to La Rochelle we usually stoped at Derval for a cuppa and a break. The Super U car park by the Gendarmerie was always empty. I fancy a change this year. Anyone have a nice place they recomend on the way down, just to spend an hr or so, that might stop the kids complaining about a boring car park!!!

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike!

Slight detour from the "direct" line from Roscoff to La Rochelle, but Cholet is a pleasant medium-sized town, with lots of cafés etc round the main square, surrounding fountains.

Reasonably easy parking too. We've stopped there a few times before the final leg of the drive to our twin town, L'Aiguillon-sur-Mer (just N of La Rochelle).

Whilst you are in this area a visit to Puy du Fou is a must (they have their own Aire 5 Euro per night after 0100hrs) see

particularly interesting for the children and a good place to break your journey for a couple of days.
