bazooka Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Next week we hope to do a bike ride along the Mawddach estuary to Dolgellau starting from Barmouth, can anyone suggest where to park a high top van? thankyou. Baz
zeddykay Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 You should be able to park (pay and display) right on Barmouth seafront. Enjoy the ride. We think the Mawddach estuary is one of the finest anywhere when the tide is in and the mountains are clear.
chas Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 There is also a decent car park at Dolgellau to park the van, and cycle the other way. Advantage being there are far more watering holes in Barmouth after the ride (lol) Then one of you can cycle back for the van or catch a bus to Dolgellau. Either way it would make a slendid day out, the area is fantastic.
bazooka Posted April 30, 2010 Author Posted April 30, 2010 Thanks chas might do that. Can bus pass be used in Wales? Baz
Philjp Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 If your Bus pass was issued by a welsh authority, Yes. if by an english one its No. You can use it if your journey starts in England and destination is in Wales or Viz Averse.
bazooka Posted April 30, 2010 Author Posted April 30, 2010 Thanks for clearing the matter of bus pass use in wales. We were on a bus from the c and c club site near oswestry when a welsh passenger told us our english pass was valid in Wales. baz
Philjp Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 It is a bit of grey area. I know my bus pass is not accepted outside Wales. My wifes family are from Herts and they are unable to use thier passes here in Wales.I use a pub Caravan site just out side shrewsbury on the english side and the bus pass came up in the Pub with a couple of locals who lived 1 mile away over the Border in Wales.Thier bus to Shrewsbury started in Wales so they traveled for Free to the Pub. But because the return bus started from Shewsbury they had to pay to get home from the pub. All sounds very silly.
Coachman Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Hi, you can park in the main carpark right on the front opposite the beach , we did last year.
