neilmac Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 OK, bear with me if this is a ridiculous question. Can their cheapie portable system be used in Europe? I realise that it won't get the main UK channels, but would it pick up local stuff? And, is the only other piece of kit required the TV itself?
LordThornber Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Neil, yes they can within certain distance of course, yes they can pick up the main UK channels and yes TV only required. Martyn
Randonneur Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 We have a Sky minidish on the house and we have no problems at all. All the channels you get in the UK we can get here. We also have a minidish on a tripod and that is the same, we are in the South West France area and have used this in Northern Spain.
neilmac Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 Have asked my daughter to nip into Aldi first thing tomorrow - we're in Spain at mo. Hopefully she'll get one.
calypso Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 does anyone know wether we could recieve anything in Majorca from one of these Aldi satellites thank you jean
Coachman Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 I should imagine that ALDI one is simular to LIDLE 's in which using their small plastic dish we got all programs down in Brittany and only in Dresdon did we fail for uk but plenty of others were available if you understood them.
LordThornber Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Couldn't help but notice in B&Q yesterday, an 80cm dish and receiver kit. I think it was £63 ish after the 15% discount for spending over £50 but that's this wekend only. Martyn
Mike88 Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 I have seen these kits in Spainish supermarkets at a cheaper price than in the UK.
colin Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 calypso - 2010-05-01 6:27 PM does anyone know wether we could recieve anything in Majorca from one of these Aldi satellites thank you jean With the small dish supplied I think you will have trouble picking up much UK tv.
neilmac Posted May 2, 2010 Author Posted May 2, 2010 :-D WHOOOHOOO! My daughter managed to get me one, can't wait to get my grubby mits on it. Trouble is.... I'm about 1200 miles away from it so will have to come up with a plan ;-)
njw Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 was outside aldi at 10 this morning to pick up a satellite kit ,been playing with it since i got home and for the money it works really well ,had 300 tv and 120 radio channels ,easy to use instructions ,was surprised what was in the kit all together ,sat finder, cable, f connectors, suction mount ,plus bracket if fixing to a house, all you need is atv .
Vernon B Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 I'd settle for getting half decent TV reception across the UK and particularly on sites in Mid-Wales using a conventional aerial. And getting mobile phone and internet connections in some parts is worse than third world countries. V
