Solwaybuggier Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Everyone seems to swear by Avon Skinsosoft - a lot of local shops sell it.

wild rover Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 I'm one of these people that midges and other biting insects seem to love! I have found Lavender or Geranium oil to be brilliant ways to deter these pests. Just put 5 or 6 drops into a tub of skin cream of your choice and then spread it on. I never get bitten when I do this.
mad mac Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Apparantly eating garlic is a natural way to repel the little blighters, but it has the nasty effect of repelling everybody else as well.
Dave G Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 My wife swears by a few drops of citronella oil rubbed on and her number one suggestion is vitamin B tablets taken for a couple of weeks before you go. It certainly kept the little bu**ers off her, mind you it might be that they preferred me! :-S
