ANN Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 We have a problem with a sealed side window that appears to have water leaking in. There are no plugs that we can see to open it up and dry it out with a hairdryer. Has anyone come across this and any ideas how we can cure the problem. We have a Pioneer Tasman. The other side window has the usual pegs in it. *-)
Brian Kirby Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 It sounds a bit like a replacement window. Have you examined it with the window open, so that any plugs that fall outside the outer seals could be seen? Is there water inside it, or has it merely misted up?If it is hazed, and there are definitely no plugs anywhere, it might be possible to get a couple from someone like O'Leary Motorhomes, carefully drill a couple of the right sized holes, and insert the plugs. Hazing between the sheets is quite common at the end of the winter, and is not a cause for concern. It will go of its own accord as the weather improves. However, if there is actual water inside the window it would seem the bond between inner and outer sheets has failed/is failing, and the best practical solution then will be replacement of the window. O'Learys again, I think. In the meantime, check whether the window catches are attached to the outer/both sheets, or just the inner. If they operate on the inner sheet only, and the bond is failing, you should perhaps take measures to ensure the outer cannot detach and fly off while driving.
ANN Posted May 9, 2010 Author Posted May 9, 2010 Thanks for that will have a good look round the window.
