hymerwoman
Hi all, Is it safe to fit an inverter adjacent a leisure battery that is fitted under the drivers seat. Many thanks for your replies.
Brambles
Supposedly yes, but I would not locate in the same area as the battery. They draw a high current and so gassing of the battery could occur, and although should be vented to the outside world if some did collect around the battery area and fault developed in the invertor there is a risk. I would locate in a separate area but keeping leads as short as possible e.g. under other seat, or a nearby locker. I always take the attitude if you have a question over if something is safe then do things in such a way the question does not arise.
