Lakes or peaks?

Hi all

Hi all looking at popping off to the lake or peak district this weekend, haven’t been to either before

Like to cycle mostly and then stroll to a local pub.

Not sure which way to head?

Any advice/sites appreciated

We love the Lakes for walks and hill climbing but have never enjoyed cycling in the lakes. We prefer off road cycling as being safer for kids and find most Lake District trails a bit too much of the mountain bike variety.

The Peak Disctrict has more choice for cycling. Last year we enjoyed Knotlow Farm.

They have a number of fields so if you are not bothered about a hookup you can choose to park in one of the further away locations. (If you like it quiet)

The pubs are more of a walk than a stroll but still nearby.

Several other CLs etc nearby.

Hopefully, someone will prove me wrong and tell us about some great Lakeland cycle routes.

We also love both but but if it's offroad family biking you want then it's the Peak District. There's the Manifold valley trail from Hulme End to Waterhouses about 16 miles return, two little cafes enroute and a bike hire centre at Waterhouses.ther's also the high peak and Tissington trails these are all on old railway tracks. The last two are alot longer and can be done in stages all have cafes and bike hire and are mostly flatISH,lots of camp sites, Ashbourne cc site near start Tissington trail.

Baz On Manifold trail pass Thors cave about 300 steps to cave kids love it me to!
