A good road atlas is worth having - just £1.99 in many shops!

Don't forget your wellies and waterproofs cos it's the wettest part of England - bar NONE!

Alternatively you could bypass Cardiff & Newport 50 MPH restrictions and go up the Heads of the Valley road A465 to raglan then pick up the A466 for Monmouth and the M50[/QUOTe]

Yes you could - but our experience is that with all they hills and roundabouts it is not any quicker in real terms and involves much more gear changing - especially in a van - and the M4 is really not much of a problem as long as you avoid the rush periods morning and early evening - unless you get a crash - which can happen on either route!

Why not pop in Halfords and buy yourself a simple sat nav if you are one of life's 'navigationally challenged' souls?

For under a hundred squids you can get a basic TomTom unit that will take you from door to door anywhere in the UK using postcodes that are dead easy to enter and without the worry of a wrong turn you can simply enjoy the journey - or if you do miss aturn it will soon reroute either itself or you - no worries - no problem - job done!

Simples!

Have agood trip!
