Tyre valves

Recently i was in a traffic jam in Austria at the bottom of the firn? pass ,i hadnt moved for about 20 min's' somone informed me my front tyre was flat.I rung the insurance and someone was with me in 20 minutes he took the wheel off the Transit and put the spare on,ithen followed him to his garage.He replaced the valve the tyre was fine and put it back under the van.This is the second valve to go the last one in the outside lane on the m62! I'v got Contenental vanco tyres and after the first insident last year had the other valves replaced .I Read on another thread you could get steele valves are these better. The first time the tyre was shredded but we were lucky to escacpe seriouse injuriesBaz

try the thread below, metal valves are better cos they handle higher pressures better

No so, I have rubber valves which have a brass insert they are designed for high pressure use on commercials.
