trickydicky
last year we camped at stratford upon avon racecourse and really enjoyed ourselves.we booked for two nights not realizing there would be racing on one of the days.....no problem, we just had to move to a convenient spot during the racing, which i hasten to add, we attended free of charge. we would like to do it again, but not neccessarily the same venue.does anyone know of any other racecourses where they allow you to camp in your motorhome. david lloyd
Hi - there are quite a few. Thirsk, Warwick, Great Yarmouth, Fakenham etc Last time we stayed at Warwick we were unfortunate wirnesses to a racehorse being shot so we tend not to use racecourses now........... Bazza454
Agree with other posters, the Uttoxeter CC site is a little cracker, "value" midweek rates and only a ten minute cycle ride to the town.We stopped there last week for a couple of nights on our way back from the north west and had the bonus of a race meeting on the Tuesday night, with free admission to the facilities etc. Typically I bought the Racing Post, did my research, placed a bet on each of the 6 races and won diddly squat whereas MBH placed a bet on a horse if she liked the name and came away with well over £100.Other CC racecourse sites where we've stayed -Fakenham, decent site and 5 minutes cycle to the town.Warwick, a bit "squashed" but close to the centre and the castle.Great Yarmouth, usual high CC standards but Yarmouth is like Blackpool without the tower and the lights, and i've never been a fan of Blackpool.
