new to the game
Thinking of going to Spain down as far as Sitges in middle Sept for about 7/8 weeks, any advice appreciated on aires, sites. We got ACSI and aires for Portugal and Spain but not many aires on the coast for that area. We used ACSI in Italy in May/June which were ok, but have never been to Spain yet. BGD
Hi Elaine - There are plenty of ACSI sites (ie, sites that accept the ACSI discount card) dotted along that coastal region of Spain, but: Best to ring them, or check your ACSI book in advance though, as for some of them September may still be in the part of the year where they don't accept the card. If you're not in a rush, do consider doing "N" roads in Spain rather than Motorways. Much more interesting, and cheaper, as a quite a lot of stretches of motorway here are toll road. A decent road map of Spain will show you your options (Motorways are usually marked as "A" roads, for "autopista"; and the bits of motorway marked "AP" are the toll sections, meaning "autopista peage"). Do also consider inland towns/villages/cities/routes. Frankly, far more interesting and far less crowded than the concrete-coast developments.
