Heyloft
Just taken delivery of my 2008 dethleffs (fiat) Lovely kit but...but.... The cab radio reception is dismal. Any suggestions as to where the aerial is, I haven't found it yet? :-S
neil malcolmson
It should be on the front wing. I have had 2 vans 1 fiat and 1 Ford.both have had crap radio reception. I think the aerial should be on the overcab otherwise the overcab and body panels shield it. I have also known converters to forget to put one on at all. Dave Newell
Is it an A class Dethleffs or a coachbuilt using the original Fiat cab? If it has the original Fiat cab then the aerial should be in the nearside door mirror, if its an A class then only Dethleffs may know where (or even if) they fitted it. D. lennyhb
If it's one in the door mirror that's par for the course reception on mine is rubbish.
Wingpete
My 2008 Fiat was supposed to have aerial in door mirror, but Rapido found the aerials no good so left the radio without decent reception, especially on MW. I took myself to a car audio specialist, and he ran tests to find best way to overcome the difficulty, and fitted a "stick on the interior windscreen" aerial, which proved to work admirably. Just a thin wire, unobtrusive and functional @ £75 fitted.
Heyloft
Thanks for the response, I will do some more hunting, staring with the door mirror. It's a Dethleffs A6991

gdf
Hi Tried everything on ours to get decent radio. In the end gave up and went to a car radio specialist who said in his experience of motorhomes only a wing mounted aerial will work. Had him fit one and everything now great. RubyExsis
Just as 'WingPete' says, Fit an interior windscreen one - it is barely noticable and works very well. Fred
Wingpete
The one I have is a Blaupunkt Autofun model. The actual aerial cost was £24.00p. Fitting extra. Simple thin wire, runs across top and down left side of screen.
Heyloft
I'm seriously thinking of changing the head unit for a Sony one with DAB I wonder if that aerial would work with that ?
