John Francis Ware Posted August 18, 2010 Share Posted August 18, 2010 Free overnight parking for motorhomes is on offer at Teignmouth, Devon, to coincide with the Tour of Britain cycle events. Teignbridge Council is allowing campers to stay at the Broadmeadow sports field, about a mile from the town centre and seafront. Faciliities are basic, but there will be water, and showers can be had at the sports centre for about £1. Buses stop at the entrance into the town every 20 minutes. Campers will be allowed to stay two nights from September 4-6 to coincide with the charity tides finishing in Teignmouth on Sunday September 5, and for another two night from September 13-15, for the finish of the Minehead to Teignmouth pro stage on the seafront on Tuesday September 14. Broadmeadow is off the main Newton Abbot to Teignmouth road, near Shaldon Bridge. If it goes well and there is no abuse, the council might be encouraged to try it out for future events in the resort.
