Melvin
The single Omnistor 12v step has stopped working on my 2008 Auotrail Cheynne. A small individual decided to open and retract the mechanism while standing on the step. (1) I can hear the solenoid working, no fuses are blown in both fuses boxes. (2) I have stripped down the step, there is a live feed to the motor (when activated) (3) To one side of the step, covered with a protective cover is the Alarm Switch, if I press the switch ALL functions correctly. I started the engine to test the step and all was fine, however, I started the engine yesterday and moved the motorhome, and the step stopped working again. I am assuming the problem is a faulty 'Alarm Switch'
Guest JudgeMental
Hope you dont mind me asking a related question...does anyone know where you can get spare parts for these steps?
Randonneur
Hi Melvin, we have had the same problem recently, solved by giving the small motor on the righthand side a tender whack, covers taken off and liberally sprayed with WD40. It may be a more serious problem with yours as we didn't have anyone standing on the step.

I THINK Rose Awnings is the official UK importer for Omnistor products. See: http://www.worldofmotorhomes.com/advertiser/rose-awnings-cara-camp-ltd-omnistor-dorset.html There's also a UK dealership map accessible via the Contact button on the following webpage (plus a lot of other good stuff) http://www.omnistor.com/gb/products/productmenu.php
w1ntersun
Hi here is the spares price list in Euros http://www.omnistor.com/gb/products/keuzestep.html I left my step down and smashed it in France it was a dual stel and would cost £200 to repair. It is now a single step cost Zero Richard
Clive
How the electrics work are shown in the link below. http://www.motts.org/Omnistep.htm Favourite faulty component is the IN limit switch. Good luck Clive

Minstrel
We had a problem with the step, he was sure it was the motor. I was sure it was the switch. I WAS RIGHT. Mind you he had to look at it cos he's the expert on electrics and electronics
